Emma Roberts 'not serious about Chord'

01 February 2012Emma Roberts reportedly called time on her relationship with Chord Overstreet as she "wasn't looking for a serious thing".

The former couple met at Coachella music festival last April, and took their time before going public with their relationship. Despite their seemingly relaxed romance, sources recently revealed that the young couple has split.

An insider says the break-up was largely due to Emma's reluctance to commit.

"They're both young kids, they had crushes on each other but the relationship ran its course. She isn't and wasn't looking for a serious thing," a source told US Weekly.

Another insider told the publication that Emma, 20, was very distant before calling it quits with the Glee star.

"Emma told Chord he didn't need to spend New Year's with her. It was just her and her girlfriends, a tradition she always does," a source added. "Emma is pretty difficult to be in a relationship with."

Things are said to have come to a head at a Golden Globes after-party on January 15. Emma was said to have ignored numerous text messages from her beau.

"Chord was waiting outside the CAA party at Sunset Tower waiting for Emma to come get him at the door," a source said. According to the insider Chord complained that the incident wasn't the first time she ignored him.

"Emma does this all the time when she doesn't want to see me," the actor allegedly said.

At the film awards bash Emma was later seen "crying and noticeably upset. Clearly they had a fight about her not coming out to get him."

There are numerous conflicting reports surrounding the pair's break-up, with one source close to the couple revealing that Chord "is so nice and was such a good boyfriend. . .He was always so sweet."

Conversely, another source insists that Chord was "controlling and always wanted to know where she was at all times".

"Emma's career is very important to her, but Chord wanted it to be all about him. She's too young to be able to give someone that kind of commitment," the insider added. © Cover Media
