Drew Barrymore: I'm in love with fiancé's family

01 February 2012Drew Barrymore is "in love" with her in-laws.

The 36-year-old actress recently got engaged to fiancé Will Kopelman and apparently also got the bonus of really liking his family.

Drew had a well-publicised difficult childhood which makes it all the more special for her that she has quickly bonded with Will's relatives.

"He has this incredible family," Drew gushed to Ellen DeGeneres. "I am as in love with his family as I am with him. Which is an extraordinary sort of gift."

"You never take that for granted... It really is an absolute blessing. I feel very lucky. They're incredible people."

Drew filed for emancipation from her mother Jaid Barrymore when she was a teenager and had a lonely life as a child star.

But she's now looking forward to starting a new life with the art consultant who she describes as a "good man."

"I just feel really lucky and really happy and really calm," she revealed. "Which is a really wonderful feeling." © Cover Media
