Jenny McCarthy wants 'football player'

06 February 2012Jenny McCarthy has joked that she wants to "hook up" with an American football player.

The TV star seemed to have been struck by Super Bowl fever as she said she would like to date an athlete over the weekend.

The highly anticipated sports event took place on Sunday and clearly inspired the comedienne, who is believed to be single.

"[I'm] ready to hook up with a football player," she was quoted as saying by the New York Post.

The blonde bombshell was attending a Leather & Laces party in Indianapolis - where Super Bowl XLVI took place - with friends and seemed to have taken notice of all the sports men in town.

But instead of flirting with male admirers, Jenny was seen tearing up the dance floor with pal Carmen Electra.

The 39-year-old was in a high-profile relationship with actor Jim Carrey for five years.

The couple ended their romance in April 2010.
