The Rock: I've calmed with age

06 February 2012The Rock is not "running like a banshee on fire" now he's older.

The actor-and-wrestler's career is booming currently, but he feels less stressed than ever before.

The 39-year-old star - real name Dwayne Johnson - has cultivated a more mature approach to his professional affairs over the years.

"I'm just a little older and a bit more poised in my ambition," Dwayne told People magazine. "I'm not running like a banshee on fire wanting to tackle the world. Now it's more strategic. You align yourself smarter so you can achieve what you want to achieve."

Dwayne was not the most exemplary pupil as a teenager. The star hopes his achievements inspire youth to take more positive directions with their lives.

"As a teenager I struggled to stay on the right path," he shared. "I started getting arrested when I was 13 and stopped getting arrested when I was 17. I'm a living example of how you don't have to let your environment or actions at that time dictate the rest of your life."

Dwayne feels grateful for his personal relationships.

Although he split from his wife Dany Garcia in 2007 after ten years of marriage the pair, who have ten-year-old daughter Simone together, remain good friends.

His relationship with new girlfriend, 27-year-old singer Lauren Hashian, is going well and Dwayne feels lucky to have such a rich love life.

"I was so fortunate to have fallen in love once," Dwayne said. "To fall in love again? That's a hard thing to do twice in the position I'm in. I'm one lucky son of a b***h." © Cover Media
