Hilary Duff wants slinky wedding gown

12 March 2010Hilary Duff won't have a big wedding dress as it'll make her look like a "cupcake".

The singer-and-actress got engaged to ice hockey player Mike Comrie during their recent trip to Hawaii. He popped the question with a $1 million, 14-carat ring, but Hilary insists the nuptials won't be as expensive as the sparkler. She is keen to have a simple, discreet ceremony, with just close family and friends in attendance.

"I want it to be traditional. I don't want it to be too big and overwhelming, because I'm so small," she explained. "A big dress would make me look like a big cupcake!"

Hilary and Mike have not decided when their wedding will take place, although Hilary admits her beau is happy for her to take charge as he wants her to have her dream day.

She is planning to ask her sister Haylie to be maid of honour, explaining her whole family are excited by the prospect of a wedding.

"I came home from travelling and was greeted by a big stack of bridal magazines from my family," the 22-year-old told In Touch Weekly magazine. © Cover Media
