Tim Gunn: I haven't had sex in 29 years

24 January 2012Tim Gunn had admitted that he has not "had sex in 29 years."

The 58-year-old Project Runway mentor revealed that he has been celibate for nearly three decades because of an upsetting experience with a former lover.

Tim opened up about his love life on his new show, The Revolution, and recounted what led to his decision.

"I haven't had sex in 29 years," Tim said. "Do I feel like less of a person because of it? No."

The fashion consultant said he was left traumatised when a former lover criticised his bedroom performance.

He emotionally recalled how the "intense" relationship and subsequent abrupt breakdown of the romance left him not wanting to have sex any more.

"He was impatient with my sexual performance," Tim shared. "I'm a perfectly fulfilled person... but it's very psychological."

But Tim, who is famous for his catchphrase "make it work," believes that sex is not everything and there is more to life.

"I'm happy to be healthy and alive, frankly," he concluded.
